Nissan Altima Recalls 2010

Nissan North America has just announced that it will recall of 26,398 2009 and 2010 model year Maxima and Altima sedans. The recall was issued jointly by Nissan and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall was made due to a probable faulty suspension component.

According to the NHTSA, the recall is due to a potentially faulty upper front strut insulator “Due to a manufacturing defect, the strut insulator could crack, allowing the strut rod to come out of position. If this happens, vehicle stability could be affected, increasing the risk of crash.”

Starting October 5, Nissan dealers will be replacing both right and left front strut insulator on effected vehicles. As of the moment no accident has been reported linked to the recall.
